About Me
I’m Sydnie Fae, a Canadian artist. I'm currently studying Art and Design to get a degree in fine arts. I’m a mostly self taught artist who loves drawing plants, women and cute little creatures. I love designs that are soft and sensual and I definitely think that shows in my work. My love of fantasy was cultivated deeper in my heart as a result of growing up in British Columbia, where I was constantly surrounded by forests and lakes. Running around as a child, I would believe I was a woodland creature in the forest, or a mermaid in the lakes, which shows a lot of who I am today.
I started out as a traditional artist being in love with watercolor, and charcoal, to now being a digital artist. I think making the switch was one of the best things I could have ever done for myself, I've learnt so much more with these new tools and can still create traditional art with my digital tools, but with less mess and less studio space. The programs I use the most are procreate and illustrator.
About My Art
Art is somewhere you can escape to.
My entire life, I've been interested in drawing and the arts. I started when I was very young and always hoped to become a concept artist; I still hope to do it someday. Early on, I started drawing people, and I've continued doing it ever since. Because I find women's figures to be the most fascinating, I tend to draw them the most, but I do draw cute creatures too. They can be viewed in a variety of ways, but I tend to concentrate on sensual, soft women in a fantasy environment. The characters can be as distinctive as I like. My main source of inspiration would have to stem from video games like, Breath Of The Wild, Death's Door, and Kirby and the stories that are told within them. The worlds, people, and atmosphere are what draw me to create lavish characters. My overarching objective is to produce art that people can identify with or experience a sense of escape from. I've always loved how authentic women's bodies were portrayed in Rococo paintings, with one of my all time favorite artists being François Boucher. I believe that this ties into my work, and I want people to feel like they can identify with it.
